Project Objective
The client's request was to design an addition to the original house, designed by architect Richard Meier, which is internationally acclaimed . The client's require a new master suite (arranged as a duplex), family room, and formal outdoor space. It is requested that the integrity of the original design be respected and integrated, while the new addition brings it's own presence.

Mr. Smith is an academically focused mathematician recruited for financial consultancy in Manhattan. Overwhelmed by the stress of his new environment, Mr. Smith is looking for a nearby residence to get away and seek Zen Relaxation. As a mathematician, he is attracted to Meier’s focus on the golden rectangle in design, and wants embracement of mathematical concepts particularly sacred geometry.
